TACAA's
July's Alumni Profile...
WILLIAM ROBERTSON, JR.
William Robertson, Jr. is the President of Monumental Contracting Service, LLC. Monumental has been in existence for approximately 10 years, but was recently incorporated when offered the opportunity to offer services to several of the new industries entering the state of Alabama. Though Monumental is relatively "hot off the presses," William is an old pro whose experience spans more than 20 years in Construction Management and Administration, Program Management and Claims Avoidance Services.
During those 20 plus years, William has been fortunate to manage on several high-profile projects in Birmingham and throughout the southeast. The most notable have been the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex East Expansion and the Birmingham International Airport Parking Deck and Runway Expansions. He has successfully managed single projects with construction budgets exceeding $140 million and cumulative projects totaling over one-half billion dollars.
In addition, William serves on a number of boards and committees. He is a member of Associated Builders and Contractors - Alabama, where he has chaired several committees, and a member of Project Management Institute. He is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Diversity Committee for Associated Builders and Contractors - National.
William has a personal commitment to excellence and has founded his company, Monumental, on the premise that great customer relations extend beyond a smile or courteous reply to providing his clients with quality and expert craftsmanship and knowledge. He believes that the only way to obtaining his goals of achieving the highest level of quality is by observing the strictest adherence to budgetary and scheduling constraints, as well as, having a staff that "buys" in to the project and functions as a partner to the client - from start to finish. After all, as William says, "A well managed project is a Monument to quality."
William is the happy and blushing husband of the former Diane Welch and the delighted father of two sons, Jason and William III.
